The Syrah plant is characterized by its robust stature and dense foliage, which allows it to adequately withstand the conditions of the Mediterranean climate in Alicante. The clusters are compact and generally of medium size, favoring uniform ripening of the grapes. It prefers well-drained soils, often clay-limestone, which facilitate rooting and limit excessive vigor, allowing balanced plant development.
