Yecla

Winemaking history

Yecla, located in the Altiplano of the Region of Murcia and bordering the province of Alicante, is a historic land for Monastrell with its own designation of origin, the DO Yecla. Its dry-farmed vineyards, cultivated at high altitude, produce concentrated and characterful reds.

It shares with the Alicante districts of Vinalopó a continental-Mediterranean climate, the same dominant variety, and a long-standing cooperative tradition; some wineries in the area also produce wines protected by the DOP Alicante.

Wine tourism

Yecla offers visitable wineries, tastings, and a rich heritage, with Monte Arabí and its rock paintings as a symbol. Its proximity to Pinoso and Vinalopó naturally integrates it into a wine route through the interior of southeast Spain.
