Bodegas Alejandro

History

Bodegas Alejandro was founded in 1982 by Alejandro Pérez Martínez and his wife, marking the beginning of a winemaking legacy in the Vinalopó region of Monóvar. Since its inception, this family winery has been dedicated to producing wines, cultivating 45 hectares of vineyards where native varieties are appreciated, with Monastrell being the most emblematic of the area.

Four generations later, the spirit of dedication and passion for wine remains strong, leaving a mark on the Alicante winemaking tradition, which stands out for its richness and diversity in grape cultivation. The DOP Alicante, which encompasses different types of wines from the province, highlights the importance of Monastrell, as well as other varieties such as Moscatel de Alicante and Garnacha Tintorera.

In this context, Bodegas Alejandro distinguishes itself by its commitment to crafting wines that truly reflect the essence of the land and its history, merging tradition and innovation in every bottle.

Philosophy

The philosophy of Bodegas Alejandro is rooted in the careful crafting of its wines, seeking each one to be a true reflection of the winemaking tradition of the region. The winery focuses on quality and respect for the grape, thus consolidating its commitment to a sustainable and responsible production process.

The grape varieties we cultivate, such as Monastrell for reds and Merseguera for whites, symbolize the identity of the DOP Alicante and contribute to creating wines with character and personality. The wines produced at this winery, such as Arbui and Bilaire, are not only the result of a meticulous process but also pay homage to the family’s winemaking heritage.

Through a focus on tradition, Bodegas Alejandro provides an authentic experience that blends family history with the richness of the Alicante terroir.

The vineyard

The winemaking landscape of the Vinalopó region is a mirror of the diversity that characterizes the province of Alicante. With a Mediterranean climate and vineyards that, in many cases, are cultivated in dry land, this region presents an ideal environment for the growth of varieties such as Monastrell.

Additionally, the 45 hectares of Bodegas Alejandro embrace this landscape, featuring gentle hills and a natural environment that favors sustainable cultivation. The meticulously cared-for vineyards extend across a setting that combines agricultural tradition with the beauty of the Mediterranean landscape.

The synergy between the soil and climate allows the grapes to reach their optimal potential, resulting in wines with a unique profile that capture the essence of the Alicante land.
