The Castalla Cooperative Winery was founded in 1946 and has become a fundamental pillar of the local agriculture for over 75 years. Since its inception, it has been committed to defending the interests of the farmers in the Castalla area.

Throughout its journey, it has evolved in its facilities, such as the creation of an oil mill in 1951 and the modernization of its processes through the installation of self-emptying tanks in 1996. This growth has aligned with the development of the winemaking environment of the DOP Alicante, which encompasses a variety of wines, with Monastrell being the most emblematic of the province.

The DOP Alicante, known for its diverse winemaking landscapes, stretches from the interior regions like Vinalopó to the coastal area of Marina Alta, where the Mediterranean climate fosters an ideal environment for vineyard cultivation. The Castalla Winery fits into this privileged context, contributing to the production of wines that represent the essence of the region, such as the famous Fondillón, a characteristic oxidative red wine that has captivated palates since the Renaissance.

Through its history, the winery has been able to adapt to changes and market demands, securing an important position within the denomination of origin. The construction of a new storage facility in 1978 and the transfer of all operations to the Industrial Park in 2008 are evidence of its constant growth in producing quality wines.

Furthermore, the winery is committed to continuing the production of wines that reflect the authenticity of DOP Alicante, where Monastrell and Moscatel de Alicante play leading roles. Among its wines are Alcanta Blanco and several red options, such as Fuego Lento and Alcanta Crianza, which are crafted with attention to the indigenous varieties characteristic of the region.
