Getting Around Without a Car
Although many wineries are surrounded by vineyards, many of the wine towns in Alicante are well connected by train or bus. With a bit of planning, it’s possible to enjoy wine tourism without driving (and without skipping the tasting).
By Train
The Cercanías and Media Distancia lines connect Alicante with Villena, Novelda, and other towns in the Vinalopó region. From the station, a short taxi ride usually takes you to the winery. The TRAM (tram) links the coast up to Marina Baixa.
By Bus
Intercity buses reach Monóvar, Pinoso, Xaló, and other towns. Check timetables in advance, as frequencies can be limited in smaller towns, especially on weekends.
