History

Bodegas Faelo, established in 1926, has been a cornerstone of the winemaking tradition in Crevillent for over 100 years. Throughout its history, it has maintained a family-oriented approach to wine production, adding to its legacy the story of grandfather Rafael 'Faelo', who began crushing grapes in the 'afollaor' in 1930.

The winery is located in a typical house of the Campo de Elche, known as 'faeneta', which also has more than a century of history. This heritage intertwines with the rich winemaking tradition of the DOP Alicante, where varieties such as Monastrell and Moscatel de Alicante contribute to the region's identity.

The DOP Alicante, famous for its diverse landscape ranging from the mountainous interior to the coasts of Marina Alta, provides an ideal context for viticulture. Fondillón, a notable prestigious aged wine, is one of the region's emblems, maximizing the potential of overripe Monastrell.

Bodegas Faelo, in this environment, benefits from a Mediterranean climate that favors the cultivation of native varieties, thus ensuring a deep connection with the land and its history.

Philosophy

The philosophy of Bodegas Faelo is centered around respect for the environment and its traditions. Its focus on biodynamic and selective viticulture allows for products that are in harmony with nature.

By caring for their vineyards naturally, they preserve the quality and authenticity of the grapes they use. The winery embraces the emblematic varieties of the region, highlighting Monastrell among others, adapting to traditional cultivation methods that have been passed down through generations.

This not only provides wines of unique character but also reinforces their commitment to the winemaking heritage of Alicante.

The vineyard

The vineyard of Bodegas Faelo is situated in an emblematic wine landscape, characterized by a Mediterranean climate that endows the region with rich biodiversity and an environment conducive to vine cultivation. Surrounded by mountains and close to the sea, these vineyards enjoy conditions that allow grape varieties to thrive, enabling high-quality production in a privileged natural setting.

The Crevillent region combines agricultural traditions with a landscape that varies from flat interiors to mountainous areas, essential for the production of wines that reflect this diversity. The visual legacy of rainfed vineyards is a spectacle for visitors, providing a unique experience for the wine tourist looking to explore the beauty of the Alicante countryside.
