History

The Aida y Luis winery was founded in 2018, stemming from a dream that began in Xaló, a charming municipality in the Marina Alta region of Alicante province. With a special focus on creating wines that reflect the identity of the area, Aida and Luis, as agronomists and winemakers, have brought to life a project that pays tribute to local winemaking traditions.

Pego, where the winery is located, is a strategic place known for its natural beauty and an ideal Mediterranean climate for vineyard cultivation. The DOP Alicante, which encompasses the wines of this area, is distinguished by its rich variety of grapes, with Monastrell playing a key role.

Fondillón, a traditional aged wine from the region, also highlights the wine heritage that Aida and Luis seek to honor. Their production, estimated at around 10,000 bottles per season, features wines that showcase the essence of the terroir, connecting consumers to the traditions and terroirs of the area.

Aida and Luis's philosophy is based on minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to be the true protagonists in the creation of their wines. Each bottle tells a story that is intimately connected to the landscape surrounding the winery.

Thus, this young winery is embedded in a tradition that has been cultivated for centuries, establishing its presence in the Alicante wine scene.

Philosophy

At Aida y Luis, wine production is approached with a focus on quality and authenticity. They firmly believe that the best expressions of wine arise from a deep respect for the grape and the environment.

They craft minimally intervened wines, allowing the uniqueness of each vintage to be fully expressed in their products. This philosophy is aligned with the tradition of the DOP Alicante, where production centers on the quality of local varieties.

Among their standout wines are the rosé 'Ou Yea 2019', made 100% from Giró grapes, and others like 'Maboi 2018' and 'Tahulla', which embody the distinctive character of the region. Aida and Luis thus convey their passion for wines that reflect the heritage and richness of Marina Alta.

The vineyard

The vineyard of Aida y Luis is located along a coastline where the beauty of the landscape combines with a perfect Mediterranean climate for viticulture. Marina Alta, known for its diverse scenery, hosts dry-farmed vineyards, contributing to the quality of the grapes.

The natural surroundings, with its mountains and proximity to the sea, influence the creation of fresh and characterful wines. The combination of warm climate and refreshing sea breezes favors the growth of native varieties such as Monastrell and Moscatel de Alicante, allowing Aida and Luis to capture the essence of this landscape in each bottle.

This environment is not only conducive to vine cultivation, but also offers visitors dreamlike landscapes and an enriching atmosphere.
